DanZan Ryu
Jujitsu (DZR) is an internationally recognized system of Hawaiian Jujitsu
engaging the student in a lifetime of self discovery. DZR is effective on the
streets and competitive in the gym, but foremost, it is a system of character
development and completion that follows ethical principles. Students of DZR practice not only
techniques, but the belief in Kokua (helping spirit) and Ohana (family
spirit). At High Sierra Jujitsu the martial arts is for a lifetime and for
everyone, old, young, athletic or physically challenged. High Sierra Jujitsu

tax-exempt corporation represented by Jujitsu, Judo and other martial arts
systems and styles. The AJJF certifies DanZan Ryu Jujitsu black belt ranks. High
standards of skill, knowledge, proficiency and ethical conduct are required for a
nationally recognized AJJF DanZan Ryu Jujitsu black belt rank. Hundreds of men
and women currently hold AJJF black belt ranks.
All AJJF members receive free copies of the Kiai Echo, the AJJF's quarterly newsletter. Clinics occur throughout the year and involve in-depth classes that encourage the exchange of information for participants of all levels and abilities. The peak of participation is the National Convention, where students from all over the world attend. AJJF members, visitors from other martial arts systems and guest instructors gather for a long weekend of intensive study and fellowship. The national convention is a great opportunity to meet and study with the high-ranking professors and sensei of the AJJF.
